With the homeowners overseas during construction, our strong collaboration and clear communication allowed us to complete the project smoothly, delivering their vision perfectly upon their return to New Zealand.
The foundation of the project’s brief was to create a modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse. Consequently, a range of natural materials and design elements essential to a bespoke farmhouse were used throughout, including American oak flooring and exposed rafters. Residential Series windows and doors in a Matt Black Powdercoat finish were chosen to preserve the farmhouse’s traditional charm while incorporating sleek aluminium joinery.
The Coatesville site is naturally low-lying featuring a forest backdrop. To maximize the location, a north-facing patio was constructed along the length of the building, enhancing the space for indoor-outdoor entertainment and dining. Of course, achieving seamless indoor-outdoor flow depends on the home’s windows and doors. The project includes sliding windows and doors along the patio that seamlessly integrate with both the living and outdoor areas. These doors fully open to the outside, connecting the open plan living, dining and kitchen areas to the outdoors.
